Responsibilities
- Design and develop technical concepts for post combustion carbon capture plants at E.ON’s own assets and client’s assets across Europe
- Drive decisions for the right technology and supplier choice depending on site specific circumstances in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Closely interact with project development and technical implementation functions, actively support project development, support preparation of tendering documents and supplier negotiations
- Optimize the technical and energy economic concept of a carbon capture installation, integrate technical solutions and operational philosophy provided by EEP (“IQ Energy”)
- Investigate and scout technical developments and innovations in the CCU/S technology market, monitor and drive decisions on technology scouting in the Carbon Capture technology environment
- Manage and steer supplier market tests and supplier requests, manage Feasibility/Pre-FEED and FEED/Engineering studies
- Drive and develop potential pilot projects in new CCU/S technologies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in configuration and concept development of carbon capture plants, background from university / consulting / engineering or capture technology suppliers
- University degree or similar in technical or chemical engineering
- Profound knowledge in simulating carbon capture and liquefaction processes by use of adequate software tools like Aspen, Thermoflex or similar
- Experience in project development, concept and basic engineering including technical evaluation, cost calculation and risk assessment
- Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to work independently, willingness to take initiative and high level of commitment
- Good sense of humour and positive attitude, ability to interact and motivate team and project team members
- Written and spoken English fluency is essential; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Availability for short business trips in Europe to meet customers and other stakeholders
