Job Description

In your function you are responsible for the management of Innovation Projects (Study, Incubation, Acceleration) within the Technology group. You manage and coordinate all the required aspects of Innovation Projects (product feasibility, strategic alignment, market, and commercial sustainability) to generate ideas and develop them into market ready solutions.

Your challenge:

• Management of innovation projects in cross-functional teams
• Development of new filtration and separation solutions with a special focus on air and molecular filtration, life science and environment applications and digital services
• Close and productive collaboration with global MANN+HUMMEL departments and with development partners like universities, institutes, suppliers, and consultants
• Initiate and foster product and service innovations with internal and external customers
• Implementation and support of all product development phases, from the idea generation to the series launch
• Manage all engineering aspects of innovation projects including concept design and development, detailed design and prototype development, specification management, testing and relevant documentation, risk analysis
• Use financial evaluation tools to assess and drive decisions on projects based on business cases

Your profile:

• Education: Master or PhD (or equivalent education) in: chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, material engineering or related technical discipline
• Professional experience: At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the job-relevant profile
• Expertise:
  • Strong technological and business innovation competence
  • Robust understanding of designs and operation of filtration and separation systems
  • Strong knowledge of filter media and filter element production processes
  • Affinity to digital innovations
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: filter media, fiber and polymer science, HVAC / air purification, molecular filtration, life science filtration and purification processes, internet of things, mechatronics, digital business models
  • Track record of success in managing R&D and/or innovation projects
• Language skills: business fluent English, German knowledge advantageous
• Personality:
  • Business acumen and entrepreneurial + agile mindset
  • Creativeness and ability to generate new ideas and recognize business opportunities
  • Customer driven and results oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Strong ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
